Oklahoma selects SEAS™ as state-wide special education management system solution
State purchases industry-leading SEAS software for all school districts in the state
Mountain Home, AR – March 1, 2005 – Today, Computer Automation Systems, Inc. announced that The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) had contracted with the company to provide their SEAS special education management software system to all Oklahoma public school districts.
“Our entire organization is thrilled about this announcement,” said Harvey B. Hughes, President of Computer Automation Systems. “We've provided SEAS to individual Oklahoma districts for many years and we are looking forward to bringing the same passion for service to all of the state's school districts.”
The company will license the entire SEAS suite to Oklahoma school districts including: SEAS Special Education Management, SEAS Assessment Report Management, SEAS Related Services Tracking, and other modules. The Computer Automation implementation team will be on-site in the state to deploy the SEAS solution in the upcoming months.
A 100 percent Web-based software product, SEAS is designed to provide ease-of-use for teachers, while delivering the functionality needed to easily manage special education forms and reports tied to state-standard curriculum, related services tracking, reporting and analysis, and Medicaid billing.
Misty Kimbrough, Oklahoma Assistant State Superintendent of Special Education said that the SEAS selection would bring many advantages to the state. “Both districts and the OSDE require timely access to information. We recognize that our teachers and districts need important tools like this to increase the level of service they provide to their students.”
“Our implementation team has already begun the deployment,” said Deby Robins, Computer Automation's Director of Implementation Services. “We know it's important to get this functionality into the hands of the state's special educators as soon as possible.”
Kimbrough commented on the selection of Computer Automation and the SEAS solution, “OSDE did a thorough selection process. It was very clear that the SEAS solution was the right selection for Oklahoma . Computer Automation's experience and references, not to mention their demonstrated commitment to Oklahoma school districts' success over many years, made them stand out from other providers. We wanted a partner in this initiative and not just a vendor and Computer Automation has proven to be that partner.”
